Fennel seeds have a herbaceous taste with pine and anise notes. It can lend itself to a wide array dishes and drinks, especially if you are interested in making new from old recipes.  It’s worth it just for the added health benefits but the taste can help transform recipes.

It’s is universally appreciated, abundant in the East and in North India where it is popularly grown, it has also been used since Roman times in the west, they would use it to flavour English sack mead a honey fermented drink.  In India, it is used in Chai or eaten raw as a digestif, and to freshen the breath!
