I have relieving memories of the Clove from when I would place one in my mouth to relieve/ numb the tooth-ache.  The essential oil, Eugenol, of the Clove is even today popularly used in products for oral hygiene and to promote teeth health.  They are also a potent source of manganese, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin K, dietary fiber, and vitamin C and generous also amounts of phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and magnesium.
